Dog Cooling Mat | Cooling Bed For Dogs
How the dog cooling mat works
The heat exchange material within the dog cooling mat goes from a solid to liquid state depending on outside temperature and/or when your pet lies on it. As your pet lies on the mat the solid crystals inside the mat absorb the heat from your dog's body and it gives off a cooling effect by return.
These mats recharge themselves when not in use, which means they go from a liquid state (when they get warmer from your dog's body heat over the course of a few hours) to a more solid crystal state when they cool again. It is a technology used in temperature controlled transport and many other applications. It is safe for your pet and non toxic. The technology is great for cooling dogs in summer months or when there is a period of warm ambient temperatures.
They can be placed out of direct sunlight, ideally in a cool or shaded spot where your dog feels at home or comfortable going back to. Before too long your dog will get the idea that the mat offers relief from the heat and should return to it when he or she gets hot.
If you are looking for a dog cooling pad for your pooch or pet that will keep your dog cool in the heat, then these products will keep your pet cool during periods of hot weather and/or after play or heavy activities.

These cooling mats are made of high quality and hard wearing (but supple) polyester fabric with a thick webbing around the edge. The material is made of up of phase change crystals and is very high quality. They can also be folded to reduce the size to easily store away.
Choosing the best mat for your dog
Please choose the right size dog cooling mat based on the size of your dog.
They come in sizes 45 x 70 cms (for small dog breeds including chihuahua up to spaniel) and 60 x 90 cms (suitable for most medium to large dog breeds)

They are great as cooling pads for dogs as they give off a cooling sensation and come in two main sizes. They do not require placing in a fridge or freezer but this may increase the initial cooling effect and the time it stays cool.
We also offer a range of cooling coats for dogs if you would prefer a coat instead of a mat.
How do I recharge the mat?
After a few hours of absorbing your pet's body heat the mat will no longer cool and it needs to be recharged. The best way to recharge it is to place it in a cool, dark room overnight.
However, the process can be sped up by placing the mat in a fridge for around 1 hour, or in the freezer for 20 minutes or so. We would recommend placing it in a fridge if you choose one of these options. This is because the mat will be become completely frozen if left for too long in a freezer and may become brittle. Leaving it in a fridge for an hour or two usually does the job.
How long does the mat stay cool for?
When your pet gets hot and lies on the pad the cooling effect of the phase change substance offers a cooling sensation which lasts for up to 5 hours.
The mats can also be placed in the car, which is ideal for longer journeys and if your pet is travelling with you in the car during hotter temperatures.
Disclaimer: We do not recommend leaving your pet in a car or vehicle for any length of time during hot weather conditions. As it will usually take around 10 minutes for your car to cool down on a hot day (when in motion) these mats are ideal to cool your dog during this period.
Do I need to store the mat?
When not in use, it should be placed and stored in a cool storage area or cupboard away from direct heat or sunlight.
These cool mats for dogs have high quality webbing around the edges to seal in the phase change material and to offer a more robust product. This will NOT rip or tear easily. If you are looking for a high quality product that will keep your dog or pet cool in the heat then these mats will do the job very well.
Prevent dehydration and over heating. If you are worried about keeping dogs cool in hot weather then these are a very popular option. The mats can also help with aches and pains, swellings and bumps and even stress! No need to wet the mat and no need for electricity or power unit.
